The first Indian women to climb Mount Everest

The first Indian women to climb Mount Everest was Bechendri Pal. This amazing task was achieved on May 23,1984.She was born on 1954 in Nakuri, village, Garthwal. Her first exposure to mountaineering was at the age of 12 years old. The first height she climbed was 13,123 feet high with several class mates at a picnic. After she finished her studies she joined the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering also known as the NIM. While at the NIM she climbed a height of 21,900 and 19,091 feet. She was the only women to complete the task out of eleven men and six women including her. When she climbed mount Everest she climbed a height of  29,028 feet. I think that this a an amazing achievement.
